My usual thinking on this question is if labeling doesnt dictate otherwise, if its been/is frozen, comes in a can or has a very long expiry date/shelf life then theres no reason to believe it didnt come from China.

Is that the same Dr Oz whose face appears on many " snake oil" weight loss pills ?

The Dr Oz " worshippers" insist "poor" Dr Oz is having his name and picture used w/o his permission.
If true, Dr Oz would have sued those companies into extinction .

Baloney !

Most of us do not rely on Dr. Oz for our news source.

Don't take the bait!

We also avoid not only food but medicine and anything manufacted there and in India as well. To me it is a reflection of their own standards which aren't American quality standards so why would anyone waster their money.

NO it is not all from China. Trader Joe's has NO food products from China including pet foods! I don't know about Whole Foods, but I doubt they would have anything from China food wise. Local places a lot of the time will have local apple juice.

To the OP, NO I will NOT eat meats or any foods from China. You CAN make sure things aren't from there when eating. If I hear McDonalds is going to do that, I will never step foot in there, but to be honest, I don't eat there anyway. Glad I like to cook and read.

Being someone that travels to Europe all the time, I can tell you the standard is higher over there than here. Much better food for the most part, except produce, but that has more to do with geography than standards.

I certainly agree. European goods are usually high quality and not at all comparable to products from China.

Heck no.

They are already poisoning us with their goods (check out the info. on just an office chair made in China!).

I certainly wouldn't want to ingest anything handled in a country with zero regard for my health and the health of other human beings..

Buy American and organic.

None of us can always buy the right thing, especially if we are living on a budget. I think most of us, who post here do read our labels.
It may or may not be processed here in the USA. The ingredients can come from anywhere. Again, read (scrutinize) the label. Many food products are indeed imported. That includes meats and seafoods. I am on a very tight budget, yet am able to avoid as best as I can imported food items. I question if they are truly a good way to spend my food dollar. It could well be argued that dollar store food imported from myriad developing nations is a luxury, not a need. Italian-style pickled vegetables in an example. But, hey, to each their own.

I don't base my food choices on a TV doctor, but on articles I read, common sense, and what I have seen in the food and beverage industry and trade shows.
