Does anyone use an Optigrill?

Seems a good idea. There are over 1800 reviews of this on Amazon and 64% of them are 5 stars.

My main issue is frying hamburgers in a frying pan, even with a lid, results in grease splatters all over the range top and that's a real pain to clean.

Also, we're in the Phoenix area; it was 111F yesterday. It's no fun cooking on an outdoor grill in such heat so for 4+ months that gas grill is a lawn ornament. Cleaning those grill gates is cumbersome and messy.

Does the Optigrill contain the flying grease?

What else have you tried to cook with yours?

FYI: We have a Krups waffle iron with removable plates that go in the dishwasher, love it. I just wish Krups made a set of plates that would cook burgers.... I'll write to them to ask... be nice to have one device that does what Optigrill does -- to include a set of waffle iron plates as an accessory purchase.

I do not, but I think most of those grill’s main selling points is that they channel the grease into a tray. I’ve been looking at George Forman grills for a college student, so i know you could get essentially the same thing for half the price. At least that way, if you aren’t happy, you aren’t out $100.
