There was one close to us in Ct, now since we relocated to Florida there is one across the street from the apt complex we live in while we look for a house. We went recently, meh, nothing special. Bang bang shrimp? Meh again. Am I missing something here??

Uh... Maybe you're missing the concept "freedom of choice." First of all, don't order items from the menu if you think they're "meh." Second of all, don't go to a restaurant if you think it's "meh." Fortunately, I love the restaurant and I don't agree with your assessment.

I totally agree with Dirt Grinder, it is very good for what it is. I don't think anyone would give it 5 stars of claim it is truly top end, but it is good, the prices are reasonable compared to similar restaurants and they fit a market. My opinion; Bonefish is much better than say, Red Lobster.

OP, for you, maybe an independent Seafood restaurant would be better for you, but most people do like Bonefish.

I feel the same way about Applebee's, I can't believe how crowded every location is and how many claim to love it.

To each his own! I don't eat there and can't figure out why people love nuke 'n fry. But if they want to eat there more power to them.

I like Bonefish pretty well. Sure, there are local places with much better seafood, but it's good for what it is and I'll admit to a weakness for those Bang Bang Shrimp. They're $5 on Wednesdays, too! It's been quite awhile since I've been, but if I recall correctly they have fairly good happy hour specials too.

As far as chains go, Bonefish is pretty good. I don't like Applebee's, Red Lobster, etc. but I consider Bonefish on the higher end of chain restaurants.

I have been there twice and both times my order was wrong. The last time they did not bring me the correct order until everyone else in my party had finished eating. I just sent it back and went home hungry. I won't mind going back again sometime, though.

I could have sworn this same topic was brought up recently. There are none around my area (Silicon Valley), I guess that's either a really good or bad thing.

Maybe I should rephrase my original statement..when we went there the other day it was the first time my wife and I have ever been to a bonefish grill. We heard all good things about it both when we were in CT and here in Florida. Everyone raved about bang bang shrimp, etc etc..we tried it, we were not impressed. Best restaurant we have found so far here has local Florida seafood, stuff you don't normally see on the menu like pompano, cobia, etc etc. I worked in the fishing industry for a long time, I know what fresh and local is all about, bang bang shrimp is not it. If you like it, hey I have no problem with that, I just didn't understand the rave over it....just another chain to me.

All those chains they must have something going, they are always crowded, red lobster, chilis, olive garden (now that is vile) apple bees, even five guys. Oh well to each his own..
