I really like canned red salmon. Pink salmon, which is more plentiful at the stores, is ok but does not compare with the canned red. I've been picking up some Alaska red canned salmon called "Faust", i think. It is kinda pricey at $3.68 a can (7.5 oz can). Certainly pink salmon is cheaper. Anybody know of deals for canned red salmon?

Costco sells three-packs of excellent canned red salmon. I agree, pink salmon is okay , but red salmon is so much better in salmon sandwiches and croquettes.

Thanks! Will check my Costco.

Woodstock: Use it on loafs, thrown it in salads. instead of tuna salad, I'll make a salmon salad sandwich...the possibilities are endless

Wow, I have not bought a can of that delicious red salmon in a LONG time. I used to pick up the 14.75 oz cans on sale for a little under 4 bucks. Last time I checked, the same can is now over 7 bucks.

Struck out at my local Costco. They had a 5 pack of pink salmon. They also had another 5 pack of Chilean canned salmon. However, it didn't say it was red or anything. Just that it was caught in Chilean waters. Anybody try this? Is it red?

Any other suggestions for cheap red salmon are welcome

That's odd - I just purchased a three-pack of red salmon from Costco two days ago. They also had the other salmon varieties you mentioned. The red salmon is in black cans and wasn't in with the other salmon varieties - it was down the aisle a bit from them.
