Sanaam chilis are hot ones from India. They'll add flavor pretty quickly even when they're whole. I think other kinds would also work great.

I didn't have ground star anise and cloves, and a ground star anise pod would have been too much.

By the way, I tasted a little of this and I will leave out black cardamom next time Green cardamom is good.

2 T Miracle Whip
2 T Thai sweet chili sauce
Siracha to taste - for us abt 1/2 T

great on crisp cold salad with grilled chicken thrown in
