I'm so glad that I was able to vote for more than 1.
My two top faves though are almonds and pistachios.
Just last week I bought Turkey Hill pistachio almond ice cream. Almost gone now. I suppose I could have easily finished it in less than 4 days. Sometimes I get home too late in the evening and don't have enough time between dinner, dessert and then going to bed so have to skip the dessert every so often.
Next are hazelnuts and macadamia nuts. Also like brazil nuts but had to add them as 'other'.
I've bought Costco's Mauna Loa Dry Roasted with sea salt and really liked them. A bit pricey so I don't get them as often as I'd like to.
I like the packaged plain Brazil nuts that I've found at Walmart.
Not averse to peanuts and many of the other ones mentioned in the poll.
I voted for more than one. #1 in my book is macadamias. I rarely have them because they're so darned expensive, but they are food of the gods. I also voted for cashews and for pecans. Though I only voted for three, walnuts are high on my list as well. I love almost all nuts. Brazil nuts are the exception.
One of the finest entrees I've ever tasted was macadamia nut encrusted walleye. It was heavenly!
Great. Now I'm hungry.

Macadamia nuts are my favorite too and next Pistachio, cashews and the rest are equal
I had to vote for all. There are dishes that each of these nuts "make":
What's pad thai without peanuts crumbled on the top?
Or warm Brie without pesto an toasted pine nuts?
Banana nut bread without walnuts...
Ice cream without pecans...
I also like eating ALL of these straight out of the bag. The only bad nut is a human nut
Cashews! I love these costly, buttery little nuts.
Did you know that in their natural state their double shell contains a toxic resin related to poison ivy which can cause death in people who are sensitive to it? This is why they must be roasted outdoors to keep from inhaling the vapors and to destroy the toxicity.
The nut itself grows down from a juicy pear-shaped fruit called a cashew apple. Unless we live where they are grown we will probably never taste one as they are too fragile to survive the shipping process.
To eat alone: pistachios and walnuts. Those were my votes in the poll.
But I do love chocolate with hazelnuts or almonds, almond milk, and peanut butter! Cashews are tasty alone as well, but way too caloric for my preferences.
