We lived next door to a family from Viet Nam, and they buried eggs in their garden. Occasionally they would dig up one of the now black eggs and eat them, some sort of delicacy to them.

So I think your overnight eggs are fine.

The eggs are fine. In England eggs are sold from the store shelves, not a refrigerated case.

I don't see a problem with keeping them and using them.
It isn't like they were outside in the sun for a few days.
I left my raw eggs out overnight last night and used them today to make Pizzelle Cookies.
They were just fine and the cookies are delicious.

OK I had one and it's over 8 hours later and I feel fine. Think I'll have another one now. Thanks!

I agree with those who say 2-3 days for hard-boiled. In fact raw eggs can be left unrefrigerated for at least a week, and several weeks in the fridge. Seriously. I've done so on many occasions.

Of course you could take the Chinese approach: RecipeSource: Thousand-year-old Eggs

Those are RAW eggs. Raw eggs are fine unrefrigerated because they're alive. A cooked egg is not and isn't safe after a few hours, just like meats

Speaking of eggs, I read an old newspaper clipping from around 1890 on the internet about a farmer's hen who was sitting on a " Spoiled egg " that exploded killing the hen and setting the chicken coop on fire. Is that really possible? If I can find that article again I will post the link.

I'm not following. What do you mean "they're alive"?

They're probably also unpasturized and not power-washed like commercial eggs in the US.
