Has anyone ever had British Iced Buns? What do they taste like? Is it like a dinner roll with sugar and icing? Is it like a doughnut? Can you compare it to anything readily available in the US?

FYI, Iced Buns are: Easy iced buns | BBC Good Food

Its been awhile but i remember scones or crumpets lightly toasted in bacon fat slathered with Scottish Marmalade or my favorite with bacon and marmite.
Mom did it all in the frying pan and it went something like this.
Cheesy Marmite crumpets with crispy bacon and glazed mushrooms recipe - goodtoknow

For the sweet stuff we would smother just about any kind of bread or bun in Lyles golden syrup usually accompanied with a Tizer. Is it any wonder i a'm diabetic....

I vaguely remember eating iced buns, pretty nice if I remember right. Basically sweet bread with icing on. Hmm now I'm tempted to bake some...
