All of the bananas that I have seen in grocery stores have been imported from Ecuador, etc. I cannot recall the last time that I have eaten a banana from Hawaii.

What about potatoes and milk? Do those not have more potassium than bananas?

Cool!

I hate bananas (too sweet & texture is not so pleasing) but I eat 2-3 a day

Freeleethebananagirl claims to eat 51 bananas a day! She supports a fruititarian diet. But her tummy gets ridiculously bloated for the first 30 minutes after consuming a smoothing made of 5+ bananas.

I don't recall those being discussed but potatoes are to be avoided because of carbs.

Ummmm ... bananas are pretty high in carbs as well.

I love bananas, under-ripe if I'm eating them raw. They have to be super ripe for baking, though.

I'm making banana cream pie today for tomorrow's celebrations!

I'm surrounded by banana palms which produce year round and am constantly inventing new recipes - both sweet and savory - to enjoy them. I can't use them all at once so stash a bunch in the freezer (either still in their skins or peeled) for the next batch of whatever!

I prefer mine more when the banana is bright yellow. Not green that is too unripe for me but with it being bright yellow.

That was a fascinating video. I like to buy green bananas, because they will last a week then without getting over ripe. I read that if you want your bananas to last longer, split them apart from the bunch so that they are individual, and then wrap the tip of each end that was split off in a little plastic wrap.
