Anything unclassy about eating soup directly from the can itself? (healthy, bread)

When I'm on vacation or a mini-trip, I often pack a plastic spoon and 1 or 2 canned soups, and just eat that without heating it up. I usually can't count on having access to a microwave, nor would I have brought a container to heat it up anyways. This way, I can avoid lines, save money, and save time too. If there turns out to be time for to grab food, I can always save the soup for another time.
I haven't done this much while at work, but the few times I did, I did pour it into a container and then heat it, since it seems eating out of the can at work may not look so good.
When I worked as an HVAC tech, drove a van and never knew when or where I would have a lunch break, cans of Progresso soup, cold, were my usual lunch. Nothing wrong with that.
I would not do that at work. While camping, back-packing, etc., it is understandable and acceptable because one is often without the amenities that a regular kitchen environment provides.

I do that all the time. Lots of times the jobs I'm on there is no place to heat up ford. I go camping and hunting and I usually throw a MRE and a canned soup in my camelbak pack. I usually go for a 10-12 mile and get hungry.
I was staying at my MIL's house while my house was being repaired, and she didn't want us to cook. So I passed out cans of Progresso soup and plastic spoons to the kids, and we had a good meal. She complained that it was unhealthy to eat cold food and I was teaching my kids bad manners. (She thought we should just eat sandwiches and chips, but I can't eat sandwiches and chips for every meal, or even every day.) So for dinner the next day, the kids and I grabbed our cans of soup and spoons, and headed to the drainage ditch behind MIL's house for a hobo picnic.
To answer your question, I like eating soup that way but not in front of people whose opinions I care about. I will generally pour it in a bowl and eat it cold.
I always have thoughts on wanting to boil canned soup before I eat it. I just think that if there is anything in there that isn't quite right it will kill the germs or whatever. But that's just me. Maybe I will try that sometime cold.

As long as you wash the top before you open it, there shouldn't be any germs to worry about. The canning process kills germs and the lack of air in the can prevents the growth of most germs.
