Pure industrial sounds such as this always remind me of the movie Eraserhead.

Actually, my first reaction was "great, there will be no workers compensation costs in a plant that automated." Taking the people out means fewer maimed employees, an occurrence that is pretty frequent in food processing plants. It also means that there will be a lot less repetitive stress injuries. Ever see some of those guys who have worked in packing houses for 30+ years?

My second reaction was that the final product would be cleaner as there are fewer hands in the process. Of course, that assumes that the machine is properly cleaned and frequently.

I have had a lot of those robotic work cells for metal fabrication and welding over the years. They require somewhat tight tolerances. I wonder how the machines handle the differences between the sizes of various lambs.

I would also like to see how (or if) they have automated the kill and gutting process. I would also like to see how far down they are taking the automated butcher process. Are they stopping at primal cuts?

Also, I wish there was a narrative attached to the video.
