I am fixing by request....

Country Style Steak with gravy
Creamed Potatoes
Green Beans


I will do a light dessert but wondered what other side dishes would
complement this meal.

Sweet Tea
Fried Okra? (it's a southern thing!)
Are creamed potatoes the same thing as mashed potatoes?

I think something pickled would be a nice counterpoint -- hot pickled okra instead of fried, maybe?

cornbread, biscuits, corn on the cob, watermelon/fresh fruit salad, pickled okra, three bean salad instead of plain ol green beans, fresh squeezed lemonade.
