Salt is used in commercial canning in big quantity for taste. Home canned, not as much. We have raised and canned chicken. We can without bones to save space and recipe convenience. It may have its application for survivalists, those living in areas with little or no electricity, ... I remember canned meatloaf when we spent weeks on a sail boot.

I have never heard nor seen this or meatloaf. I have seen preppers can meatloaf. I believe you have o pressure cook them, not the water bath style.

I think I could handle someone's homemade, maybe.
