I agree! There is no such thing as NY style pizza. Pizza IMO is the best in NY. I have had it outside NY and I don't think it is as good. Pizza from Brooklyn is great IMO. Also when I order a pie to go I ask for it well done, it's not floppy

That is not a pizza by definition, that is a cheese layered pie. Had it, hate it. No wonder so many people from the midwest are obese.

Tommy DiNic's Italian pulled pork/brisket or John's Roast Pork are quite literally some of the best sandwiches in the country. Nothing in Chicago compares. Cheesesteaks are for tourists, really Philly homers eat hoagies and pork sandwiches.

Philly is an underrated mecca for food and foodies. Even the editor in chief for Food and Wine agrees:

Hot dogs, sausages, and pizza are meh. You can get those anywhere.

Chicago food is on my bucket list.
Anyone who sells cheesesteaks with 'whiz' on them needs to be taught different. And then, I've seen those vendors in those Philly places refusing to serve people, based on how they order their sub or what they want on it. Morons.
Oh, phooey. That's one place and it's a tourist attraction.

Some people hate it while others love it. The term and creation of deep dish pizza came from Italian
immigrants - called "pizza pie". It is a pizza with a thicker crust.
Here is the definition of pizza pie:

Here is another variation of deep dish -Detroit style:

Didn't know the midwest was a major hub of obesity?

2. I always thought it was the Deep South - especially Georgia, Alabama, and Mississippi - that was Ground Zero of Obesity.

Well, you thought wrong.
Enough with the ridiculous 'obesity' stereotyping, all who are doing it. It's ignorant.
