Too hot here! I'm not cooking for awhile with all these over 100 temp days. Chinese delivery: chicken lo mein, chicken with mushrooms, Kung pao chicken with peanuts and shrimp egg rolls. Coke to drink. Might get ice cream tonite after the sun goes down...

We're celebrating my birthday tonight (it was actually July 15th) at Ruth Chris' Steak House with three other couples, and I also expect a candle-free cake (It is one of those boring birthdays, I'm 43 but I don't want to set the cake ablaze). I got the oddest jacket from one of my sisters - it is made of a very thin quilted material like a bathrobe and is reversible. It is gold and black with some kind of huge (tacky) symbols all over it. She claimed it was suitable for the office! If my office was a circus tent perhaps it would be.
