The other teriyaki chicken bowl from yesterday with brown rice. (Every Tuesday is a buy one/get one free special for the chicken bowls.) Side of watermelon slices. Iced tea to drink.

THURSDAY:BBQ chicken breast and a loaded sweet potato from Texas Roadhouse. I'll have a side of chili with red onions and cheese, fresh yeast rolls with cinnamon butter. DS wants steak and loaded baked potato with green beans. DD just wants loaded sweet potato.

Sorry to hear the flu has struck your home. I hope everyone is feeling better soon.

Tonight I will make a tomato basil soup and grilled cheese and bacon sandwiches.
Happy Thursday people!

DH wanted an old fashioned bone-in ham so I'm thinking about the possibilities while we enjoy "funeral sandwiches."

He was disappointed. Even though he drove to a real, honest-to-goodness butcher shop he says it doesn't taste or have the texture he was looking for.

I'm thinking fettucine, ham and peas, split pea and bean soups.

Last night I had a dinner I had previously frozen. Grilled chicken breast, brown lentils and broccoli. Pretty good but the chicken gets tough when I reheat it.

Out of frozen stuff so tonight will be fresh cooked something. Just went to the grocery store so I have some options . . .

I've noticed that too! Ham just isn't what it used to be. I've been thinking about ordering one from a smoke house in TX or somewhere. They're expensive and I'd be mad if I got something similar to what's in the grocery store.
