Now what about the other 200+ chains across the country? They are hardly all owned by the "SAME THREE CORPORATIONS."

There are also fine dining spots that are technically chains. Even Thomas Keller has opened Bouchon locations in Napa, Vegas, and Beverly Hills.

I do wish that people would branch out more and explore their city’s independent restaurants over the chains. The quality is often higher, you are eating something unique rather than something you can get in any town from Amarillo to Zuni, and more money is kept in the local economy, particularly if you eat at a restaurant that sources ingredients from local farmers and purveyors.

Went to a local restaurant for breakfast at the suggestion of a family member. Ugh, terrible service (snippy) and didn't care much for the food either. Sometimes one sticks with what they know and for me, that's IHOP.
