Yeah I bought a silpat a couple of years ago thinking "THIS will be GREAT!"
After realizing that it was just one more thing to wash, I decided it was more trouble than it was worth. It now sits in the cabinet, unused. I guess I need to toss it. Parchment paper is the best solution, and I use it all the time now. I can reuse one sheet about 3 or 4 times for cookies - a great time-saver, and it works perfectly.
