I have a certain in-law who refused to have Thanksgiving dinner at my house because the hot water heater broke the day before, and she was convinced that the dishes and flatware would be unsanitary. I offered to bleach and hermetically seal her place setting. This same person has no qualms about her smelly dog laying all over the couch.

I think most of us like a clean or certainly not a dirty house, but I can't imagine turning down food because a house isn't up to your standards. I might even want to return to someone's dirty house and I might accept food to take home, but toss it after I am home if the house was that bad, but I wouldn't be rude enough to refuse something. Maybe I just haven't seen a house that dirty.

If I am afraid to sit on their toilet seat you better believe I am afraid to eat from their kitchen.

No but I have seen messy kitchens but usually there is no leftover food outside the fridge area.
