I agree. Most berries have very little or no taste nowadays. They are way too big , all look like frankenfood - an eye candy but nothing for the mouth. They do not resemble the wild fruits anymore.
I usually sniff the packages, but there is no fruity smell either ...
Has anyone noticed the mammoth size of fruit sold at the grocery store? Remember back to those earlier days – and those old time fruits. Small, really. But so flavorful. And, yes, admittedly less attractive than the perfect waxed models lining the produce aisles.
Cultivated fruits, are engineered for a strong sugary taste that comes as sucrose and less as other sugars – exactly opposite of what our wild relatives seek out.
Wild fruit was much higher in protein, vitamin C, and minerals such as calcium, iron, magnesium and phosphorus. In some cases, the mineral content was 10x greater in the wild fruits than in cultivated varieties.
It seems our modern tastes and aesthetics have cost us much in terms of nutrition...

Back to blueberries: calculating the surface area of those blueberries (remember, most of the supernutrients are in the skin) its clear that a cup of wild blueberries has almost twice the blueberry skin as the cup of cultivated blueberries. Twice the skin, twice the antioxidant power in a cup of wild vs. cultivated blueberries!
If you can, get the wild blueberries instead. Organic or from Farmers Market.

Where is it blueberry season? They are still at their highest price where I live. Strawberries came down in price this week, but not blueberries. Lucky for me I'm still eating blueberries I froze the last time they were on sale.

I love blueberries in everything from pancakes to smoothies. Great on steel cut oatmeal.

Bahahahahaha!!!! YAY!!!!! BTW, it's never TMI for me. I'm the person to whom you can tell anything (well, no, not about surgeries; I'm squeamish) and I'll never ask you to stop.

Blue poop! Hahahahaha!!!

Lots spinach, blueberries and beets and then primary 'RGB' colors?

If anyone can take a perfectly yummy and innocent thread and flush it into the toilet it's me. I'm sorry OP! It's just that you said something about eating blueberries all day long and--as someone's who has come close to really doing that--I thought folks should be warned. LOL!
