Portions are so big now I can't stand going out to eat, especially to the pub-style-american-food restaurants which dominate the dining landscape in most of the country.

Wtf does incest and cinnamon rolls have to do with each other?
Um, funny this post should come from some guy in the UK. When I spent 10 weeks in Scotland, they were deep frying everything and a popular sandwich in other parts of the country was a "chip butty" which was french fries and butter on bread.
They have almost as much of an obesity problem as this country, and I suspect the only reason they're not on par is because people still do quite a bit of walking in many parts of the UK and they have a bit more of a sense of portion control.
Simple observation disproves the notion that one third of Americans are overweight. This is just another of the many, many scares that are fueled by a certain element in our country. That element is the antienjoyment group. They have always disapproved of the pleasures of the table, but they were correctly ignored and ridiculed. Now, however, they have successfully started the fashionable desire to look emaciatiated. It's nonsense.
We can correct this easily. Let's simply redefine obesity as some excessive amount above what the American average is. That course is reality.
Let's stop this nonsensical apologizing for enjoying life.

There actually is a possible connection. It's not uncommon for someone to overeat and allow themselves to become obese in an unconscious effort to make themselves unattractive, and it's a defense mechanism after some psychological trauma in their past (often sexual assault or sexual shame of some sort)
This is hardly the reason for obesity in America. A lot of it boils down to the high amounts of high fructose corn syrup packed into our low cost foods that the lower class can afford.

What is the incest part all about, just threw in there in the middle of her eating habits.
Oh yeah, some restaurants do serve those huge burritos. The Mr. did actually finish his once, while I didn't make it halfway. Neither of us are fat because we don't eat like that often. And as far as I know, no one eats all those burgers and fries in one sitting. No, what he's showing us does not explain why people are getting fat.

I think the point is that she's eating because of emotional problems stemming from the incest. Girls who have been sexually abused often put on weight as a sort of barrier.
