No ice. At home I don't even put cans of soda in the fridge, I just keep the boxes in the pantry and drink them at room temperature. I don't have an issue with cold sodas, and I won't complain if I'm given a glass with ice, I just really don't see much of a difference, as long as the soda isn't warmer than room temperature.

I want my beverages cold, so I want lots of ice. I don't drink fountain drinks, but I usually get iced water with lemon when I am out or an unsweetened iced tea so I want them cold. I also like to put some ice in my wine, but I want it on the side.

This only works without refills. When refills are free, servers will skimp on the ice to save labor; customers are less likely to need a refill with more soda in their cup.

Anybody remember a generation back when the reasoning was that ice was the most expensive ingredient in a soda (except in certain situations, where it is the cup itself).

No ice. The soda is cold enough for me coming out of the fountain.

I do like the ice at Sonic and Zaxbys but I feel like I get a couple of sips and it is done.

I have to have ice, but I do it myself anywhere I go, because drive thru people will fill over half the cup with ice and rip me off from receiving as much soda as I should!

Crushed ice is the best in fountain drinks IMO...I go less than half.

For soda which I don't drink anymore I like a little to no ice, for water I like a lot of ice. I cannot drink water unless it's iced cold.

If it's at a place where I fill my own drink I will put a very tiny amount of ice, if it's at a place where they fill your drink for you I just ask for no ice.

IMO most places put waaaaaaaay too much ice in drinks, it basically becomes Coke flavored ice water. McDonald's and Wendy's in particular are notorious for this rip off. I much prefer places where you fill your own drink.

I've never seen anyone drink a glass of Southern Iced Tea without ice.

If I'm filling the cup myself, I don't put ice in it. If someone else is filling the cup, I don't specify the amount of ice.
