I'm definitely not hungry after I eat my high fiber cereal with fruit. I have a medium salad for lunch (with protein) and I do not snack.

How odd.....

I think it has something to do with fasting. Our bodies naturally fast overnight and aren't jump started until we eat again. A similar thing happens when I fast for 2+ days (I purposely fast a few days a month with only water/black coffee). I'm not hungry AT ALL for 48-60 hours until I finally eat again, then it comes back to me. The hunger sensations, etc..
Pretty much exactly the same for me. I can fast 3 days when starting off on nothing after sleep, but when I eat a healthy breakfast, I'm ready for lunch at 10:30!
I've learned that, and when I'm cutting calories, they always come from breakfast. I eat a decent lunch and big dinner. It works for me, but I don't know why...

If I don`t eat, im usually fine. No hunger pains.

Its weird.
Four egg whites is only about 70 calories and essentially no fat, which is pretty skimpy for a meal. Eating that little is a tease - telling your body that you're going to feed it, then stopping short of meeting your body's needs. Try adding a little fat and fiber.

I usually have a grapefruit, a slice of whole wheat toast with peanut butter, and I'm good for the morning.

Yes. I convinced myself that I *needed* breakfast but then I was much hungrier, especially in the mornings before lunch. Finally I decided to go with what felt natural. Now I skip breakfast and don't eat a snack until later in the morning about an hour before lunch. I don't get nearly as hungry this way and I feel much better. BTW, I would eat oatmeal, eggs, etc to see if different foods helped but no matter what I ate, I'd be starving in an hour.

I should have posted this in the exercise and fitness forum.

Eating just 4 egg whites for breakfast is not the right combination of foods to keep you satisfied until lunch time.
You need to learn which combination of food will get you through the morning and stay within your chosen daily calorie consumption.

No way can anyone think eating 4 egg whites is going to be a satisfying or big enough breakfast. Yes, sometimes breakfast does not stay with me, depending on what I have, but I always have something. I know it is healthy and better to have the calories early in the day. I feel the best if I have something like a piece of peanut butter toast or cheese toast, a glass of juice and my coffee. Weekends we have our huge, not so healthy breakfast. I would say, as much as I love my eggs, plain scrambled eggs really are not the answer for me. I have to have some carb.
