I notice a local market is selling frozen cooked 1 lb lobsters for $10.00. Seems like a pretty good deal, curious if anyone has any experience with frozen cooked lobster, good, bad, or indifferent?

I buy them to make "Lobstah Rolls" (one lobster per roll). I don't recommend heating them very much since they're already cooked.

I do NOT like cooked frozen seafood...mushy ! It's so EASY to cook! Just buy raw, and cook it! Frozen cooked shrimp is a HUGE pet peeve...it's awful! Cook your own seafood!

Nope, those pre-cooked and frozen Maine lobsters are far from mushy.

I agree--I've never had precooked frozen lobster meat that was mushy. Or crab legs, for that matter. If the texture is bad, there's something wrong with it (maybe thawed/refrozen) & it shouldn't be consumed.

That's pretty much the conclusion I've reached, although shrimp season here on the coast will kick into gear soon and I may get diverted for a while.

I was raised in New England, but most everyone else in the world was not. Some people think lobster tails (always, by definition, frozen) are good, but that is because they have not had fresh lobster.

The only good lobster tail I ever had was on a beach in the Caribbean, because Caribbean lobster is all about the tail, and it was fresh caught.

All I'm saying is, if you think you are unimpressed with lobster tail, you really haven't had lobster. Sometimes, I buy whole cooked lobsters at Kroger. They are not great, but they are better than nothing.

I know what you mean. We used to go to Block Island in the summer, and had so much lobster, my aunt was giving it to the cats.
