TX, you have that backwards. Skim milk tastes (?) like someone took whole milk and took a whole bunch of butter out.
I like whole milk. I can handle 2%. Anything lower than that and I'll take gin, TYVM.

Nothing but whole milk for me. But I don't drink much. A bit on my morning cereal, the rest in cooking. It takes me 3-4 weeks to go through a gallon.

For 7 years of my adult life, I drank nothing but raw unpasteurized milk, straight from the cows at a nearby dairy. I used it as my go-to thirst-quencher, then. Wonderful.

I grew up in Wisconsin. In my high school, the only vending machine had half-pint cartons of milk in it, and they cost two cents. In my grade school. there was a milk break every day, with free milk handed to every kid. Half pints were still in glass bottles then, with cardboard stoppers. No such thing as chocolate.

If there's no cream or h&h for coffee, drinking it black, for sure.

I always used to drink skim and 1% when I lived in New York, but now I drink 2% and I like milk a lot more. The fat content just makes the taste of milk more rich. I still don't eat it with dinner, but desserts and cereal, you may need some milk.

I like skim milk but whole milk does make a far better cream soup and as a creamer for coffee. I really can't taste the difference between skim and 1%, and 2% tastes pretty rich. If I have whole milk to drink or on cereal its now almost too rich.
Its a trade off. I like milk but the fat content makes skim milk the best choice. I almost never drink chocolate milk, though.

The CLA in milk fat is supposed to be good for people. It's actually anti-cancer, so 1-2 % milk is okay. I drink Soy Milk mostly, but 1 % milk in the winter. Skim milk is like water--yuck.
Rice milk, wow, very bland, but good if you have allergies to cow's milk or soy.

I'm the opposite - whole milk makes me gag. Skim is the only one I can drink.

I am with gramirez2012 - my husband accidentally bought 2% milk and it made me gag...so that same day I went right out and bought more skim milk, and he finished the 2%. I'm glad we only get 1/2 gallons at a time too.

Last time I drank whole milk I was pregnant with my daughter( she is now 33 yrs. old).
It was so rich tasting it made me gag. so I switched to 2%. Now I drink 1% because the 2% tastes too rich to me.
S.O. would only drink whole. I gradually weaned him to 1% and he's okay with that. We have used the skim but like others have said it tastes like water,bleech...
I use the 1% for cooking as well, it helps to cut down the fat,
especially if I am using real butter (ie.homemade mashed potatoes).
