I much prefer Inn-In-Out over 5 Guys but I never tried Shake Shack. Saw one in NYC that had a very long line of patient people, so I assumed it much worth the wait.

The fries can be kind of limp if you don't tell the order-taker to fry them longer so they're crisp. Lots of people do that. In general, you can do any kind of special ordering without pissing them off, they like the challenge since they like the job.
I've only been to Five Guys in NJ and in Asheville for the last time (drop of quality, burgers almost = size of White Castle) and increase of grease). Prior to this year, I thought they were certainly superior to other fast foods. Boo hoo (really, I enjoyed them).
I also vote on Texas Ag's response as being probably the most hysterical (if we can vote but I don't want to sidetrack the forum). More!!!
Nobody should be able to vote unless they've tried all three; Shake Shack just doesn't have the number of locations as the others, but is clearly the best.
^^^ yep; I have never heard of SS or IAO, there's a 5 Guys in town but we don't go out to eat.
