Sherm's Thunderbird. Sherm's Thunderbird, Roseburg Prices as good as Costco but with a lot better selection. I am always shocked at how much people pay for groceries in other areas.

I treat Safeway like a convenience store, quick in and out. Albertsons deli chicken is as good as KFC for a fraction of the cost.

By chance I went to Sherm's today and still had the grocery receipt in my pocket.

Trader Joe's - frozen food (I eat a lot of green smoothies and Trader Joe's frozen berries and spinach is 2nd to none!), spices, cooking oils and dairy

Whole Foods - bulk bins, specialty produce, organic/hormone free meat

Market Basket - produce, general grocery items

Super 88 (Asian market) - produce, seasoning, and (most importantly) duck eggs!

Sometimes I stop in at Stop and Shop or Hannafords (which I prefer, but it's pricey) due to convenience from home or work.

some of us don't have any of the above choices believe it or not.

For me; it is, our local small grocery store, weekly: Sam's about once a month: Aldi's every couple of weeks and once in a blue moon I pick something up at WalMart when I have to go there anyway. If we had a Trader Joes I would use them as well. I also, again rarely, due to cost, pop into Fresh Market. During the late spring and summer we do a lot of produce buying at our local farmers markets. I can't wait.

Where I live, we don't have Ralphs, Vons, Fresh N Easy or Food4Less...
Same here: we do have one Targot, but it isn't even that close. Even when we lived in Texas, DFW area, we had different choices than you have. I think most market chains are regional, very few, anymore that are national and we are seeing less chains all the time. People are using big box stores, and specialty stores more.

You must also be located in Southern California because I recognize Ralphs, Vons, Fresh & Easy and Food 4 Less.

I shop at Trader Joe's, Fresh & Easy (they've closed A LOT of stores), Albertsons, Ralphs and sometimes Costco.

Walmart out of necessity, it's a small town. There is a Costco nearby, but I stopped Costco shopping long ago. Safeway is here, too pricy. The Albertson's was taken over by Haggen, it seems OK. I also go to a small local store for decent produce & expensive but quality meats, & make a 60 mile one-way pilgrimage to Trader Joe's & Target every 3 weeks. I miss Food4Less, they had good value.
