Why would someone tell you that they have English muffins and peach jelly? (coffee, breakfast)

Way overthinking this!! If you don't want anything, just say "I'm not hungry, thanks" - I see you're new, you don't have to think you have to start a new thread just to start a new thread.
I was picking my friend up to go play golf. His wife and sister were cooking eggs and bacon. They asked if I wanted any, I said, "No thank you." His sister then stated that they also have English muffins and peach jelly... What was that all about?
Perhaps they thought offering you the English Muffins and Peach Jelly would be more appealing to you than Bacon and Eggs.
I believe it is generally referred to as being courteous, thoughtful and a good host/hostess.
I'm not a vegan or vegetarian. It just felt awkward having to decline both of her offers twice in a row.
To save yourself many future awkward moments, wait for your friends in your car that way you do not have to interact with anyone other than your friend after they get into your car.
This is your issue alone and quite trivial to be honest.

I guess we just see things differently. Since people seem to be getting an attitude for whatever reason and I'm starting to read a little sarcasm in some of these posts, I think I'll stop replying. Thanks for taking the time to respond everyone.
It was a subliminal message that you were too ignorant to catch. You obviously didn't want his "bacon" and two "eggs" and they really wanted to know if you wanted to eat her "peach" and stuff her "muffin."

Now that I'm thinking about it, his sister does seem to give me extra special attention.
Her asking me a follow up question made for an awkward situation is all. If I ask someone if they want something and they say no, I say OK and walk away.
Ruined my day? No. I just found her behavior a little odd.
The behavior was not odd...they were trying to be welcoming and hospitable.....the fact you find that odd is more telling.
