Their food costs too much for what you get here in the US. For most of the combo meals it's over $7 here. That's just crazy. If I want to spend that much on a hamburger, I'll go to someplace like Red Robin and get a much better burger.
Me, I like foreign McD because they have other stuff besides the usual drivel. For example, green bean pies, and some sort of triangular shaped philly cheesesteaks in a Shanghai McDonalds.

The one in Asheville, NC near the Biltmore with the piano is nice as is the
laid back one in Cape May, NJ that has a fireplace.
A documentary about 10 interesting McD locations had one in the south where due to local ordinance, ALL buildings have to architecturally match what's already in the city. So you have this spruced up and actually high class looking exterior AND interior of a building that serves junk food fries and Big Macs. A guy took his hs girlfriend there on a date. Pretty classy
Bread in my country IS garbage, my country is the USA.l I have traveled in ALL 50 States and the bread in all of them is GARBAGE ! And I have traveled and lived in several European countries and their bread is delicious, good, great, perfect, the way bread should be. Eat your Bunny bread if you like !!
You can always go back to those Europeon countries and stay if it is that much better.
I always find it interesting though when so many from Europeon countries would do just about anything to get to the USA because their countries are so terrible.

Right. I have some friends from Belgium coming here (Texas) on vacation and spending several days with us (as they do every few years).
You know where they want to eat? Tex Mex dives and "Chinese" buffets! That's right, street tacos and General Tao's chicken! Stuff that's definitely nothing special to those of us living here.
It's the novelty that appeals to people in general. For instance, several people have mentioned the "novel" menu items in McDonalds' in foreign countries. Well, they're not novel over there. I am pretty sure that most Europeans eating at an American Mickey Dee's would go back home and say, "Wow, the McDonalds' in the US are SO COOL! They're so different from over here!" Especially if they went to a McDonalds in a top tourist destination.
Like I said earlier, I don't eat at McDonalds and in fact rarely eat at any hamburger joint, but just imagine how impressed some European would be if they wandered into any of these hamburger franchises in the US:
I'd be happy if the fast food places would just keep their tables and floors clean and awareness of FoodSafe and Food Hygiene a top priority, no matter what country they operated in.

In Norway, a big mac costs like 8 bucks
