At this point all we can do is wait for your assessment of your experience of eating raw ginger.

I eat about a 1/2-3/4" section of raw ginger every day. I don't mix it in anything...just peel it and pop it into my mouth. Once a week I buy a portion of ginger root and work my way through it during the week.

I like it. Yes, it's pungent, but in a good sort of way. Sometimes I will slice it up and eat each slice, other times I will just put the whole plug into my mouth and suck on it for a bit, and then chew.
We eat daily raw ginger sliced with our meal,or in our hot water. Yum

Sure you can. Know what? here in the Philippines "some" adults use it to soothed sore throat. They will just chew it raw(I can't do it). But there are some who will boil it in water first. The boiled one is called "salabat"

Yep, yep, yep!!

I swear by raw ginger for sore throat. When I get one, I double my raw ginger amount and put it in tea, too.

That and Vitamin D3 - about 6000 IUs daily in the winter months here.

Years ago when I was undergoing chemotherapy, I kept a small piece of raw ginger under my tongue and I never got nauseous.

Yes, but you might get sick and die.

What do you think that pink stuff is next to the green stuff when you have sushi.

You can eat it, or make tea, or add to smoothies.

A. Not everyone eats sushi.
B. As mentioned before, that is pickled. Not the same as eating freshly peeled raw.
