A couple of months ago, when babysitting and that was the snack the kid wanted. I'm not a big fan. One thing I've never had - ever, not in my whole life, is a Twinkie. I mentioned it to someone and they felt sorry for me and gave me one from a package of individually wrapped. I took it home and it got put in the cupboard. It got pushed behind something and stayed there, literally for years. I came across it one day and decided to keep my record intact - I threw it away. Was it still good? Of course. Those things will still be good long after me and all my progeny are extinct!
I'll eat an Oreo from time to time but I don't buy them; just mooch from somebody else's stash.
Generally, have them 2 times a week (along with Chips Ahoy) while out having a Coffee and watching my Son's Rugby practice. My Wife usually has them in the house, but at home I prefer to go to the bakery down the block and get something fresh with apples in it.
They were never banned anywhere, nor under any real threat to ban them. A California lawyer filed a motion to restrict the sale to minors of foods that contained trans-fats, which would include the creme filling in Oreos. The suit went nowhere (except to the attention of the tabloids who can never seem to uncover any real news or scandals or provable conspiracies), and was dropped.
I live in Colorado so they're banned here. I confess, I did smuggle in a package from Utah last week.
Hope folks realize this is just a joke....a mother was scolded for putting Oreo cookies in her
kids lunch, since they are unhealthy.........(I live in Colorado too...)
