Would anyone in the US be kind enough to measure a 14 oz can of Eagle Brand Sweetened Condensed Milk? I have a Canadian can that is 300ml - this is volume as opposed to weight. I think they are the same size based on recipes I've seen on both sites, but the internet is chock full of conflict on this.

I just want to use my 300 ml can for a recipe that calls for a 14 oz can. I can't imagine the manufacturer would produce two different sizes, just different labels. My can measures 3.25 high from rim to rim, and has a diameter of 3 inches.

Thanks in advance!

That's not 14 fluid ounces? I know 300 ml is about 10 fluid ounces.

DG I think you're right. Fluid oz is also a volume measurement, I guess it would have to be, if most US cans of every food type are 14 oz. So that would mean my 300 ml can is indeed a different size. I can go over there and buy one but not for another week. I just really didn't want to open another can for 114 more ml's.

I looked at one and it also notes 398gr in addition to 14 oz

Does that help?

That would mean the 14 oz is dry weight and not volume.

You'd open the second can and use around a third of it, and you can pour the rest of it in a plastic container with a lid and keep it in the fridge for a few weeks. During that time, you can use it in your coffee instead of milk and sugar, on your ice cream, smear it on raisin bread, drizzle it on angel food cake, or just enjoy it by the spoonful. You can also make some black tea, add a dollop of sweetened condensed milk, and a sprinkle of cinnamon. Delicious.

The conversations are all easily found in a google search.

Conversations about what?

Edit: Ah... conversions, right? The problem isn't the conversion, but rather whether the ounces are weight or volume.
