LOL...no, the circumstances were such that I was the young lady's boss, and she found out I loved really hot spicy food. So, she made a traditional delicacy and brought it to work, and was so happy when I ate it and made appropriate nummy-noises. LOL

It's okay, it wasn't that bad since I didn't know what it was, and it made her feel good.

Scrapple- A savory mush of a hog's head, heart, liver, and other scraps? which are boiled to a broth and cornmeal is added, with seasonings sage, thyme, among others then is cast into loaves and allowed to cool until gelled. That sounds simply delicious don't you agree?
Is that the same as souse meat?

many little towns out here have their beer joints and there's usually a jar of pickled pigs feet and hardboiled eggs in either vinegar or beet juice. Another pass for me.

Hey, I kind of like pickled eggs! Not sure I'd eat them from a jar on a bar, but spicy garlic pickled eggs are yummy. Of course, you don't want to be around anyone after you eat them because not only do you reek of garlic but...they can make you unpleasant in other ways! LOL

Pickled eggs = food for when you're alone!

The weirdest thing I ever ate was pickled shark. It was really chewey, and really gross.
I advise against it, if you are ever offered a bite.
