Little by little I have become disgusted with chemical laden foods. I drink unsweetened iced tea instead. With a wedge of lemon.

So much better!

I used to love over-ripe bananas, the spottier/darker the better...yuk!
Last couple of decades, I can only eat the ones that have just yellowed moments earlier.

Hamburgers at barbecue gatherings, no matter how good the meat is...don't know why.
I usually opt for chicken, even hot dogs! This happened many moons ago.
I actually prefer fast food burgers (over the private party patties) if at all.

For quite some time, I haven't liked the sweet taste of foods (usually sugary desserts, candy) lingering in my mouth too much longer after I initially consume them.
Ideally, I'd like to eat something tart and/or hot (chile peppers) and have that cleanse the palate and be the last taste I remember.

  • I don't like Hershey's chocolate any more. It's cheap and nasty.
  • Fritos and a lot of snack foods taste way too salty to me now.
  • The only M & Ms I like are the dark chocolate ones.
  • I used to love Mary Kitchen's corned beef and roast beef hash, but after I learned to make my own hash the canned stuff tastes too greasy and salty.
  • I used to love Skippy and Jif peanut butters, but now I only like the ones you have to stir, the ones that are made with nothing but peanuts and salt.

Those chocolate orange balls. I got one at Christmas one year and it was new and different and I liked it. Then it became "my thing" to be included with gifts or whatever and after a couple of years and maybe 8 or so coming my way I had to let everyone know that the attraction had definitely faded. The last couple I got ended up in the break room.

Potato chips like Pringles where the chip is made up of particles instead of a slice of vegetable.

Flavored coffees like Starbucks lattes. I only had those as a treat once every month or so.

Pre-made cakes and goodies from the store taste too sweet and chemically.

I've been suffering since Bluebell took their factories down to try and clean the listeria contamination. We've tried other brands of ice cream and they taste artificial.

Pop Tarts made several people's list. It's on mine too. I can't stand super processed food like I did when I worked a million hours a week in my 20s. I practically lived on Pop tarts, cigarettes, and coffee. I'm not a huge fan of pickles anymore like I used to be. I was also a big ice chewer, but I don't chew ice anymore, to the delight of my teeth. However, I found out I had a long term iron deficiency, which can cause people to crave ice and salt. Lastly, Chex Mix. Someone mentioned puking on Naked Juice. I had a bout of projectile vomiting the only time I ate Chex Mix (probably related to something else; the Chex Mix was merely coincidental), but I still can't even stand the smell of it without becoming nauseous.

Mikes Hard Lemonade...ten years ago I was at a pool party in Pennsylvania. Somebody had brought a whole bunch of this stuff to the party and it was great..and it made the event much more "interesting". Today I can hardly drink the stuff.

Energy drinks such as Monster, Rockstar and Red Bull...great stuff back in the day but it seemed like overnight I could no longer drink them. Oddly enough today I still run into people ( especially younger folks ) who beg me to go back to Red Bull and the like because they really really REALLY believe its far more better for you than soda which brings up this...

Soda both regular and diet...been cutting back there too but I have to admit some of the reason for this was that whenever I try to buy a soda in recent years I would either get dirty looks from others or if not that being told outright that I shouldn't buy them for example last week at McDonalds ( yeah McDonalds of all places ) I was about to pour me some Diet Coke only for one of their employees had walked up to me saying that I shouldn't be drinking this because Diet Coke is so unhealthy. I got tea instead.

Bud Light...too many "questionable" memories of my Denver, Colorado "beer bust" days.

Zima...I believe they are hard to find now but back in the 90s they were all the rage. Great stuff then and later in life not so much.

Pizza Hut pizza...great back in the day but not so much now.

I thought of something else I used to love but don't like at all anymore: escargot. I still love the butter, garlic sause, but not enough to order them. I realized this on our last cruise. I was sorry I hadn't ordered a different appitizer.

Funnel Cake. Used to love the stuff as a kid on the boardwalk in New Jersey.

I think tow things changed: The oil used to fry it (it does not stay crisply like I remember), and I'm not down the shore on the boardwalk...
