Coconut ice cream or pistachio nut. Homemade or from a local natural ice cream stand (which are all closed for the winter ) There's nothing like the real thing with no preservatives or artificial funny tasting ingredients.

My favorite is frozen custard from Andy's. The texture is so creamy and smooth. It is better than any store-bought ice cream I have had, and a key lime "concrete" during the summer is just perfect.

Store-bought, I like Haagen-Dazs pistachio.

Wait, what on earth is a key-lime "concrete"?

A concrete is soft-serve ice cream mixed with something, like a McFlurry. They might only be made with frozen custard, which is different from ice cream in some way. I did not encounter concretes till I moved to the area but I have seen them in multiple stores.

Andy's custard is like a firm soft-serve with a very smooth, creamy mouthfeel. In the summer they mix a whole piece of key lime pie into a large concrete.

Wikipedia says frozen custard is made with eggs, but I know French vanilla is too. But you know how people are complaining about whipped, fluffy ice cream? Frozen custard contains little air and is typically dense, similar to gelato.

Default What's your favorite ice cream and brand

What's your favorite ice cream and brand?

I used to love Edy's - before the prices became outrageous. Now it seems like they don't use the highest quality ingredients anymore.

Publix brand ice cream is great - and usually there's a sale 2 containers for $7.00. Some of it still seems a little air whipped but it's a good quality store brand ice cream.
  • Chocolate
  • Cookies & Cream
But my ALL time favorite ice cream is still Baskin and Robbins

Pralines and Cream and their Chocolate. So creamy and so delicious.

My favorite is frozen custard from Andy's, a little local chain in Illinois. It's similar to soft-serve ice cream, but the creamiest, smoothest soft-serve you've ever had. They make it fresh every hour, and you can get it mixed with all kind of yummy things.

From the store, I like Haagen Dasz pistachio ice cream or mango sorbet.
