There is an Amish stand at Booth's Corner that always carried Coconut Chocolate Chip ice cream. The distributor stopped making it because of the cost. It was my absolute favorite and I have never been able to replicate the taste with any ice cream including Stone Cold.

I like almost any flavor of gelato. We have Caffe Gelato in Newark and their's is excellent.

It's still an old American institution and it still tastes good after all these years.

It's Vanilla.

Runner-up: Vanilla/Chocolate Chip.

Other sub-favorites: Peach, Chocolate, Strawberry.

Fresh made Peach ice cream from York Castle in Silver Spring Maryland as it's only available for a limited time during peach season.

I can see now that a new ice cream maker is in order. I do like fresh peach and fresh strawberry ice cream. A great break from my usual chocolate varieties.

The best ice cream I've ever had was in an English pub...home-made rhubarb ice-cream with crystallized stem ginger in it.

It was served with Rhubarb Crumble.

Oooo... Rhubarb ice cream! I've got to make me some of that in the spring. We eat a lot of ice cream in our house. My favorite store bought is B&J chunky monkey. I will eat most any B&J ice cream. I got the 2 qt. cuisinart ice cream maker, and I haven't bought ice cream since. Our all time favorite is Alton Brown's recipe for Philadelphia Style vanilla. It has no eggs to compete with the flavor of the cream and vanilla. There are so many ways to dress it up, chocolate sauce, caramel sauce, fresh fruit, pie, cookies, or just plain naked. Some of my other favorite homemade flavors are coffee, burnt sugar, orange sherbert, and rocky road.
