Yup. Having early Thanksgiving at my out-of-town Mom's so we don't have to risk winter travel. Having it October 18th and then will repeat again on the real T'day for my in-town family. Love those leftovers and I have the best stuffing/dressing recipe ever, which everyone loves.

Anyone else started stocking up?
Don't stock up, but yes, looking forward to roast turkey!!!

Yes because I am not sure if my mom will be hosting or my SIL. I would host it but my house is small and there's 12 of us. As far as what foods will be served that's easy because my mom's menu is pretty much the same every year with the exception of 1 or 2 dished brought by one of my in-laws.

I have my airline ticket and this will be the first year in my married life that I won't have any responsibility for cooking. Yay!

Dinner will probably be fish, rice, beans and tortillas barefoot on the beach followed by fresh fruit.

I've been preparing for it since early this past spring!

We raise poultry, 325 head of 'em at present! We have heritage breeds of turkey, geese and ducks in addition to chickens. I have a Thanksgiving turkey all picked out, and a nice fat goose for Christmas! YUM!

Already have roast turkey, home made mashed potatoes, gravy, green bean casserole, pumpkin pie and cranberry sauce on mind.
Been that way all summer, Florida is hot and always has one thinking of the fall.

The other day my husband brought home his company invitation to their Christmas Party for me to RSVP.
Wow, Christmas party invite so early, but I guess the holidays will be here before we know it. Well, we though we at least had the place all set up for the holidays. We were going to have Thanksgiving day at oldest granddaughters, she has a new, very large home and was so excited about hosting a big family dinner this year. We had decided to have Christmas eve at daughters and I was going to have Christmas day because it would be only daughter, son in law, us and a friend: well, just last night I learned: no to Thanksgiving dinner; granddaughter has to do her continuing education the week before Thanksgiving and i goes until either Tues or Wed. No way can she host dinner: She and hubby were supposed to go to his family for Christmas, now they have decided it is just too costly to fly the family there for the holiday. New house payment, student loans and a third child in child care have blown the budgert. So, to be honest, we have no idea where we are doing what!!!!!
