I prefer booths and actually avoid restaurants that don't have them. I also like to be in the back of the restaurant that isn't near a bathroom, door, drink station etc. But that's optional.
I am a big guy, so I hate fixed tables as are found in a booth, not enough room for me to be comfortable. Table for me, and I want to be able to see the door/entrance from where I am sitting. An old habit from my LEO days.
JiM B.
I am not a big guy, but I hate fixed tables as well. Table for me too, please.
I honestly try to find a booth. I don't like eating out in the open. People bumping into me. If absolutely forced, I would sit at the counter. But in General, I prefer booths more.
You know what I funny? When you see an empty
Seat in the corner of a restaurant with no one sitting in that area.
As SOON as you go to sit down
Then a whole bunch of people just come over and sit there. It's really annoying.
Booth. Not a fan of tables out in the middle of everything, or banquettes where you sit closely by strangers. And I'll just leave if it's communal tables. Unfortunately, that's traditional at most Texas BBQ joints, too.
I don't care. I'm like the guy above who said horizontal surface with a chair.
But with that said, I LOATHE people who get to a table and then tell the host(ess) they want to sit "in a booth"/"In the corner"/"somewhere else". Why didn't you make that request before you schlepped across the restaurant?! My wife and I like to play a game sometimes watching (typically) old people who will do just that. You can tell they're eyeing another table while shuffling through to the first unwanted spot.
