Sadly, this doesn't surprise me. I think my favorite part of the article is this:

Quote:
"It is too oppressive for government to require a restaurant owner to police another human being from their own indiscretions"
Um...yeah!

Enter now the discrimination factor!

Since he never thought it would really become law, he just opened a whole new area for people to be discriminated against. As if we don't have enough hate crimes. Oh yeah,l I know, he was trying to shed light on the problem of obesity, but what he really did was show his ignorance. I mean face it, are we supposed to believe that obese people can't cook or don't know how to make a meal in their own homes? Are we to believe that obese people can't eat if they are turned away from restaurants?

This kind of thing went on in America's past. Only back then it was discrimination against blacks. Yeah, that's just what we need, businesses allowed to determine for themselves who is and is not an ideal weight and another area of discrimination. And this is an elected official? Did he finish high school or is he trying to make this country into a communist country?
