Beretta, I'd like to thank you for mentioning these! I pretty much only drink tea (usually iced) but hadn't even THOUGHT to look for something like this at the store! I had no idea they existed. Considering how much Iced Tea I make this would be a HUGE time and money saver.

You're welcome. I used to just boil water and steep tea bags and such but I have lost some hand and arm strength and this is safer for me now. I really like it. I tried the Mr. Coffee one but I think this one makes better iced tea. Everyone has their own preferences. Good luck!

I'll eventually upgrade to yours or one like it - it looked really elegant in comparison to the Mr. Coffee version. LOL.
I've been very happy with the batch I brewed today though. I gotta go to Trader Joe's though to get more Irish Breakfast tea bags. There's 80 in one box, and they make a better iced tea than the Lipton, now that I've compared the two.
I use my coffee maker... 9 cups of water and 4 family size tea bags... Pour into a gallon size pitcher and fill the rest with water (stir in sugar or Splenda while hot if desired), put in the fridge. No need to pour hot tea over ice causing it to get watered down quickly.
So it's been two months with the iced tea maker. I have to say I use it almost every day at this point. I love it. I make a half gallon in the morning when I'm making my breakfast and spend the day in front of my computer sipping away. At first I tried different teas, but eventually I just went with Trader Joe's Irish Black Tea with a lot of lemon squeezed in. Haven't bought iced tea from a drive-thru in over a month, and now that I'm on a strict diet, having something flavorful and calorie free on hand is essential.

I've often wondered if buying the Mr. Coffee ice tea maker was a worthwhile purchase, I tend to make it on the stove and keep the tea in a jar of the fridge. What makes it easier than boiling water over tea bags and adding ice?

I have limited burners in my house, for one thing. But the process is basically this - pour water in the iced tea maker, put tea bags in the cannister that fits over the pitcher, fill the pitcher with ice cubes. Then you hit the button. The cap goes on the pitcher and you can leave it on the counter or stick it in the fridge. It may not be easier for everyone, but for the way my brain works and the amount of iced tea I like to drink, it works perfectly.
