I cook all the time, but to make it special I would do something gourmet, like a duck dish, or a French dish. Or something you can do together, like fondue.

One of my husband's favorite meals is linguini with white clam sauce. I might make him that for valentine's day also some grilled shrimp. I don't like clam sauce so I'll make enough shrimp for both of us.

My other half is a meat and potatoes guy and would probably laugh if I made him a French meal. After all he isn't French, he is plain country. Not all persons enjoy a fancy French meal. Now give him good old southern cooking like an oyster po boy he would be happy, but I decided to elevate the Sweetheart Day meal a bit from a po boy.

I already went to the butcher and bought a thick juicy steak to cook for my sweetie. I plan to make twice baked potatoes, portabello mushroom slices cooked in garlic butter, fresh marinated grilled green beans and a Chocolate Praline cake.
