I made shrimp etouffee for the first time tonight and served it over rice. It was quite good but needs a little tweeking. I seem to be missing an ingredient but have no idea what it is. Just seemed a little off but was still good.

Tonight (gosh I'll be glad when Lent is over) we're having broiled trout with herb butter, Caesar salad, rolls and apple martinis.

Came home and my contractor had been gluing up pipe joints today and the house stank of that glue, so we turned on the stove hood vent to highest and headed out for Thai. Penang curry and crispy spring rolls and green tea.

Came back and a lot of the smell had dissipated. i love a strong hood vent.
