Fried green tomatoes, baked beans and chicken breast. I have been looking forward to the fried green tomatoes for a while now, just finally had a chance to get to the farmers market yesterday.

Here at my childhood home, where I'm visiting for the week, in Berks County, PA, I'll be fixing fried "Shady Maple" Dutch Apple Sausage (from Shady Maple Farm Market in Lancaster County) and homemade mac and cheese.

We just got home from NC, so I'm throwing together a quick spaghetti sauce, spaghetti, and garlic bread. Maybe a veg, maybe not.

We had a VERY stressful weekend - desperately in need of some comfort food, calories-be-darned, before heading back into the work week tomorrow, SO I made:

- Fried salmon patties served with lemon wedges and sour cream dill sauce
- Yukon Gold potatoes au gratin with mozzarella melted on top and browned under broiler
- Fresh white corn
- Canned green beans
- Dark chocolate cupcakes from a mix, but with real homemade buttercream frosting (I hate canned frosting), washed down with two glasses of very cold Chardonnay

Feeling much better.
