My go-to hot sauce is Chelsea Fire Wicked Good Hot Sauce. It's an urban Boston version of Tobasco - you use it by the drop in other things, never as a singular thing (you don't dip chips in it, you add a drop of it to the dip).

Contains both habanero and ghost peppers. It's too hot to really have a flavor when it's all by itself but it's really yummy when it's added to other things.

I realize this thread is about the bottled hot sauce brand, but do y'all know that tapatio means a person from Guadalajara? Just a little trivia I picked up recently

Most Thai Chili sauce is not even close in heat to Tapatio. I think the closest to Tapatio is Cholula in terms of taste but it's weaker.

I can remember Tapatio on the kitchen table when the only place you could find it was in East LA.

I keep a small bottle on hand nowadays for when we have Mexican style ceviche. No other hot sauce else does the flavor profiles justice.

My wife's family on her mothers side is from Guadalajara and my Paternal Grandfather is from a little Puebla near Lake Chapala.

For you culturally bereft Americanos

I ran out of Tapatio. I buy it in the quart bottles. I go to the store and they have a dozen tiny bottles on the shelves, and that's it.

I hear that they have pallets of Tapatio at the warehouse and that they are ready to ship it to your residence.

I haven't found my Tapatio yet, but while I was looking I spotted a bottle of Mojo Criollo. "What's that?" I said, so I bought it to give it a try. I've got a pork shoulder and three turkey thighs marinating in it right now. So, we'll see. It smells interesting.

I make fresh Mojo Criollo for Cochon De Lait, cooked in my Caja China. The crispy skin is incredible.

I like Tapatio but I really love Melinda's Habanero Sauce. Carrots, habanero, inions, lime juice, vinegar, garlic and salt. Very tasty stuff. Been a fan for over 10-15 years.

I've tried a lot of sauces and the closest one I can think of is Valentina. They also have an xxxtra hot version.
