I'm asking this because of the storm in the east that has people rushing to get food. The news telling them to have enough for a week or two. So, it looks as though a lot of people don't normally keep food in their house. There are three of us and I think we would be OK for longer than two weeks. And that's normal for me.
My wife said we have two months of food in the house. A chest freezer and a lot of canned, boxed foods which get rotated...
AS a casual prepper,we'd last months in style.
Our main concern in cold weather would be heat if the power went out, but we have a gas generator 8 hour on/8 hours off for about 3 months.It can run two 1500 w heater {oil filled finned ones} for half its power,the fridge and a lamp and tv for the other half of its power capacity easily.
Camping stoves would cook what we needed. One will burn whatever we can burn in it to heat 2 cps water for the freeze dried food. With H2O on hand, we'd be set. I have about 200 gallons and could drain the 60 out of the water heater and fill the tun for gray water come a storm.
Not to hard to buy extra h2o, bread and freeze dried/canned food {or to learn to can your own}, to have on your own extra. Build up a stock pile to cover emergencies.
We have a tight budget, and built it over the last 3-4 years, but we aren't stoopid {note two "O"s instead of one "U"}
I am amazed at how many would go hungry after part of or a week.
With a little creativity several weeks, for sure. Probably longer. I didn't see the bottom of my freezer for a very long time
My pantry is well stocked, and I have few boxes of drinking water as well. It's just me, so it would last. I know how to cook from scratch, so I will have fresh bread too. Now, if the power went out that will be a different story. Can't eat flour, rice and dry beans.
I would use outdoor grill for heating, warming, and small baking (like making tortillas or pita). Use my pots to cook in open fire or build me an earth oven (yep, learned it in school)
I have few bags of charcoal and chopped wood. It would make me feel like a bonafide pioneer woman, but I would survive.
3 days. We don't have a car, live in a 250 sf efficiency studio, and the nearest grocery store is 2 miles walk away, so we can only buy what we can carry.

I just began a "fiscal fast" to make up for spending too much in December. As part of that, I live off the food I already have stored in the fridge, freezer, and cabinets until it's all but gone. Makes for some interesting meals, but it's fun and thrifty! Also keeps you from being stuck with too many perishables should your power go out. Of course, I supplement when running out of something vital (milk, bread), but no more "storing" food for now. I don't anticipate it lasting more than a month or so in my case. Then time to grocery shop again!
We have three fridges and a deep freezer, plus a well-stocked pantry. Our family would survive for a few months, provided we didn't lose power.
We have told our neighbors that if we ever lose power in a major catastrophe that they are welcome to bring their grills over for the HUGE BBQ party we're going to have before the frozen stuff can rot.
