I go through phases where I eat salad every day, but that's more common in the summer when the veggies are a little bit nicer. Right now I buy a tub of spring mix every two weeks and have salad every day until it's gone. Once the red leaf lettuce and the spinach are back in season, I'll start making my own salad again.
Does it keep well for you through the two weeks? Do you do any special to keep it fresh?
Salad fixings like carrots and tomatoes and cucumbers probably once a day with skipping some days.
Salad greens are another issue.
I buy a container from Aldi that has 4 types of lettuce. It never gets finished but I use it daily for most of a week. Or a bag of salad gets half wasted..Only thing I have found that I finish is romaine.
I buy the bagged salads, then augment them with cut-up brocco and other stuff. Yeah, it's kind of sick, but I finally set aside my snootiness over bagged foods and it's just so convenient. That's what happens when you have a family; you surrender all your principles
I try to have a salad with my meal every day. I usually buy bagged salad greens and top it with tomatoes or cut up peppers. It's a great way to make a meal more nutritious and I feel like salads go great with most meals.
Depends on what you mean by salad I guess. Green salad once in a great while, more often potato, macaroni, chicken, tuna, carrot, kim chee, jello, 3 bean is probably my favorite. Tomatoes I could eat every day, but not usually in salad, I just eat them. Kale is awful.
I prefer to eat cooked vegetables, crudites, or other ways of eating vegetables and fruits. Bowls of leaves just aren't appealing to me. Sliced cucumbers in vinegar, or tomatoes cut and salted on a plate are delicious.
However, when leafy salads are served as a course in a meal, I do eat them.
Almost everyday in the summer, but only 2-3 days a week in the winter. One thing I don't like very much is bagged salad it doesn't taste fresh to me. I always buy whole green or red leafy lettuce and chop it myself.
Seasonal. Every day in summer, sometimes for both lunch and dinner. In winter....not so much. In winter I eat soup!
I do this, though: in winter we're also more apt to get pizza delivered. I almost always put baby arugula on my delivered pizza. Best if you get bacon as the topping. Pretty good with sausage, too.
Daily or close to it in the spring and summer, less so this time of year. In the fall and winter months, I'm more likely to eat my veggies roasted, in soups, in stews, etc.
