I saw at the store they carried potatoe cakes. and I thought yum I love my grandmother's potatoe cake

So I bought and just fried them and I am disappointed they taste like hash browns

I think that is what they must have done in creating these took hash browns and put them in a breading.

My grandmother made them from mash potatoes.

That is the downfall to many store bought foods. I bought some gnocci in the frozen food section, its much quicker then homemade. They tasted gummy, lesson learned.

OOOOHHHHHH i LOVE potato pancakes! My grandma made THE BEST! She used mashed potatoes too. They were SOOOOO good right from the frying pan.

On the recipes forum, there is a small thread for potato latkes. One poster put up a recipe for mashed potato pancakes.

I will have to check it out and I guess serve the ones I bought with breakfast instead of with dinner. I live and learned and should knew my appetite desire not get ahead of me when I see something that I have not had in awhile.
