Ice cream - why take the joy out of it for someone who obviously loves it? I just don't understand it.

Personally, I don't like Starbucks coffees - they taste burnt to me. But if someone else loves Starbucks, I'm not going to go on and on about how they process their coffee beans and how inferior I believe their coffee to be. They're not hurting me - or anyone else - by enjoying a venti mocha latte froufrou beelzebub margarita bonanza coffee.
Have you ever tasted a coffee milkshake from starbucks? You can't taste the burnt flavour with all the sugar and flavourings. That's why they're so popular. If you have to drink starbucks (travelling, or meeting a friend who likes it), the best bet is the mocha latte frou frou beezlebub bonanza.

Different strokes!
The only fruit ice cream i'll eat MUST be covered in hot fudge!

^^^^ Agreed. Except for mango ice cream. That's the only fruit ice cream I like.

As far as ice cream goes, the most delicious ones to me are creamy and full of flavor, with plenty of chocolate pieces, nuts, marshmallow, caramel, brittle, coffee, rum, etc. in different combinations. Yum!!!

Vive la difference!

One thing I used to like is 2 scoops of pineapple sherbet in a glass and pour 7-up in to make a tasty icy drink

Like I explained in my second post, it would be nice if the North American ice cream industry catered to those of us with tastes different from yours. That's all my point is. You eat what you want, but if I want peach-raspberry or mango-strawberry with real fruit and real cream and real fruit liqueurs, I want to be able to find it without having to drive to some obscure ice cream parlor 500 miles away.
That's illogical. This IS North America, and the majority of people buying ice cream are, indeed, North Americans. The goal of a business is to make a profit, not cater to a small minority of buyers.

I don't see grocery stores selling Ethiopian food anytime soon, either.

In any event, many of the gelato flavors are fruity. Trader Joe's sells some, too. Maybe this will help. http://theicecreambar.com/locate/

Well I live in America too and I agree with acrtic_gardener. It isn't about the flavors, but what is in the ice cream and what it's made out of. Why shouldn't we, as Americans, expect to be able to go to our local grocer and get fresh fruit and ingredients in our ice cream??? Sounds like you are an advocate for the chemical masquerading as ice cream, and that is not "American", that is just unhealthy.

I absolutely love fresh peach ice cream with chunks of peach in it, but it is hard to find. It would be awesome with a raspberry swirl...sort of like peach melba. When I was pregnant fresh peach ice cream was my one craving.
