Nothing with high fructose corn syrup is not junk food. Most commercially produced pizzas are made with high-fructose corn syrup. Processed wheat. Cheeses of varying degrees of authenticity. Etc.

Junk pizza is junk food, good pizza is good food. There is nothing inherently wrong with pizza whatsoever.

Most pizzas people eat are loaded with fats, salt, simple carbs, etc.

One slice can be anywhere from 400-500 calories.

And like potato chips, who the hell eats only one.

Most people like myself stuff ourselves with multiple slices.

Fo' sho' it ain't no health food in my eyes. Maybe the kind they serve in Italy or that sort of restaurant where they use wholesome ingredients from top to bottom, probably a lot healthier than the artificial crap most Americans eat.

I don't think most people consider it "junk food". But it's relatively high in fat, and in carbs. It IS a splurge. So for that reason, I don't eat it much. I do love it, but I have to limit my consumption of it.

One slice of pizza at BJ's is 850 calories. They have a sign by the food area. Of course it's a huge slice....but how many people will buy it and eat half?

It's considered junk by some due to heavy doses of grease/fat and salt, as it's typically made, due to large amounts of cheese, highly processed meats, etc. The low carb folks also tend to freak out about the crust.

Ultimately, there is definitely a continent who consider anything but a bowl of raw vegetables and a glass of water to be junk.

Here is my favorite pizza. I eat it about once a week.

Fat Head Pizza - The HOLY GRAIL Of Low Carb Pizzas

The crust is made from cheese, cream cheese, almond flour, egg, and spices. I usually add pepperoni, sausage if I have it, fresh basil leaves, slice up a tomato, and more cheese for toppings. I make half of a recipe and eat it all.

It is AWESOME!!

Two of my kids are coming home for the weekend, and they have requested this for one of our meals.

Refined white flour, high sodium, nitrates, saturated animal fat, sugar and much of the protein has been processed to the point of having little nutritional value. One of the reasons that obesity is becoming more common, is that so many people delude themselves into thinking that this kind of junk is good food.
