I was thinking about how candy manufacturers color certain flavors to distinguish them from other flavors that may be of similar color.
So, for fun, if you were to introduce your own bag of candy, and that bag were to contain the flavors of Cherry, Strawberry, Watermelon, and Lime, how would you color them to tell each apart? Cherry is usually red and Lime is usually Green, however, with Strawberry and Watermelon in the mix, that makes things more complicated. Strawberry can either be Red or Pink, while Watermelon can either be Pink or Green.

Here is how I would do it:
Cherry - Red
Strawberry - Pink
Watermelon - Dark Green
Lime - Lime Green
How would you do it?
can you have the candies shaped liked the fruit?? so its not just the color??

Skittles are all round, but are different colors.
BTW, in the Sweet and Sours variety introduced this year, three of the five flavors are Sweet Strawberry, Sweet Watermelon, and Sour Cherry. Sweet Strawberry is pink, Sweet Watermelon is green, and Sour Cherry is red. Imagine adding a potential Sour Lime to the mix.
Food colors... I try to avoid. Why dont they use natural colors?
Anyway, there are only so many prime colors, then they need to use shades of them
Generally all ^^^^ suggestions are in common use, and what people expect them to look like. Watermelon is usually light red. Purple looks weird to me. https://www.pinterest.com/pin/433119689143818221/
I know Pink Jazz (the OP) from the Phoenix forum. A nice person with a decided pink fetish.
But I'll play.
Cherry = dark red (think Bing cherries)
Strawberry = Regular red
Watermelon = medium pink
Lime = dark green
Apple = light green (think Granny Smith)
Pomegranate = oh, hell, forget about it!
And yeah, I agree. I don't get tge blue raspberry thing either. I assume it was developed to avoid the issues with two many red colors of various fruits.
Well, there ARE blue raspberries - maybe they just color them that way in candy because so many other flavors are red or a variation of red?
That is my guess as well.
